A VINTAGE tractor road run is to take place throughout the Yorkshire Dales.

It is expected about 40 tractors will taken part in the rally on June 2, which will run through Wensleydale and Swaledale.

There will be historical tractors and other all-terrain vehicles such as Unimogs and Halflingers taking part in the rally.

The annual event attracts farmers from across Yorkshire and every year some farmers make the journey from their native Netherlands.

One of the organisers, Doug Mould said: “They found out about it when we made a video of the rally one year and they came across it. They make it into a holiday.

"They say they like coming here because each valley we go into is different. On the 60-mile round trip they can also now recognise a different dialect spoken in each valley.”

The circular route will be approximately 40 miles and will raise money for Swaledale Mountain Rescue.

It will start at 9.30am at Metcalfe Farms near Leyburn.
