A CAREERS event to introduce current and former Armed Forces personnel to employment and training opportunities outside of the military will take place next week.
The British Forces Resettlement Service is holding the careers event at Catterick Leisure Centre, Catterick Garrison, on Thursday, May 2 at 10.30am and 3.30pm.
This will be the fourth free careers event to take place in the garrison.
Previous BFRS Catterick events have attracted more than 1000 past and present service personnel seeking employment opportunities and advice on their transition into civilian life.
They have featured hundreds of exhibitors, including many of the country’s biggest employers and training providers.
BFRS founder Harry Dean said: “There is currently a lot of uncertainty in military communities brought on by recent redundancy announcements and the planned closure of military bases around the country.
“Attendees will leave the event with a better understanding of where to make their next career moves, many having job interviews lined up, and some will even have new jobs.”
Exhibitors at the event will include British Gas, Enterprise Inns, G4S, Yorkshire Water, Brush Electrical, Colossal Training and BUPA. Employers are often looking to fill job vacancies so it is recommend attendees bring several up-to-date CVs with them.
