LINE DANCING: A beginners line dancing class starts in Danby Wiske next month – designed especially for the over 50s.

Line dancing is a fun way to get fit and make new friends. No partner is needed and it keeps the brain active, can help with weight loss, control blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol and is good for posture and balance.

The class starts on Tuesday, May 7 at Danby Wiske Village Hall from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

Entry is £3 per class – but the first class is free.

For further information contact Alison on 07921-078110.

FAIR SUCCESS: The next Chic Vintique fair will take place in Richmond Town Hall on Tuesday, May 2 from 9.30am until 3.30pm.

More than 300 people attended last month’s fair, and other local retailers said they saw a rise in takings that day.

The fair offers various speciality items ranging from antiques to vintage clothing, jewellery, home wares and gifts.

Entry is 50p. For more information visit website@brevents.co.uk or call 07779-342782.

OPEN GARDEN: Great Ouseburn Spring Festival, on Sunday, May 5 from 11am until 5pm will give visitors the opportunity to see the site where two Air Ministry staff and four Russians were killed in a plane crash in 1942.
