POLICE are asking the public for help in tracking down a man wanted in connection with a burglary.
Stuart Mawer, 36, from Harrogate, is wanted in connection with a break-in at a house in Bishop Monkton, near Boroughbridge, in November last year when jewellery worth about £4,000 was stolen.
Since the raid police have made extensive enquiries in an effort to trace Mawer and are now asking for the public’s assistance.
Detective Sergeant Fionna McEwan, said: “We need to question him in connection with a burglary and the support of the public could prove vital in locating him.
“I would advise Mawer to hand himself in, as the longer he evades the police the more difficult things will be for him when we do catch up with him.”
Contact police on 101, select option one and pass information to the force control room or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555-111.
