A NEIGHBOURHOOD policing team has announced details of its forthcoming public liaison meetings.

The Consett-based team holds PACT (Police and Communities Together) meetings once a month in each area in its ‘patch’ in north-west Durham.

Members of the public can help to shape police services in their area, as well as pinpointing priorities to help to engender community spirit.

PACT meetings will be attended by a representative of the neighbourhood police team who will report on crime trends in the area and field questions from the public.

The first February meeting, for the Burnhope area, is at Burnhope Primary School, in Langley Avenue, Burnhope, tomorrow, from 6.30 - 7.30pm.

It will be on the first Tuesday of each subsequent month at the same venue and time.

The next meeting for Blackhill, Bridgehill, Shotley Bridge and Benfieldside areas of Consett is at the Baptist Church Hall, on Pemberton Road, Blackhill, Consett, on Thursday, from 7 - 8pm.

They will take place, thereafter, on each first Thursday in following months, at the same time and venue.

Castleside, Healeyfield and Muggleswick PACT meetings will be held on the last Thursday of every month at Castleside and District Community Hall, Drover Road, Castleside, from 6 - 7pm.

The next meeting is Thursday February 24.
