A ROTARY club has welcomed a visit by the charitable group’s new district president.
The Durham Bede Rotary Club hosted Les Fay as part of Mr Fay’s 67-date regional tour, during which he will visit all Rotary Clubs in the North-East.
Mr Fay met Durham Bede’s new president, Nigel Martin.
Bill Sones, from the club, said: "This early visit was to recognise the importance of Durham during his year of office - due to the fact that Durham, for the first time, has been selected to host the Rotary District 1030 conference during early September."
The conference will bring hundreds of Rotarians to the city, using the Gala Theatre, Durham Town Hall and the Radisson Blu hotel.
