SINGER and broadcaster Aled Jones will be honoured in Durham Cathedral next month.
The former child star, best known for singing Walking in the Air, will receive an honorary award from the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM).
Mr Jones, 39, will be presented with the prize during the RSCM’s annual celebration day, which this year is being held in Durham Cathedral on Saturday, May 15.
The event will feature a mass choir of 450 singers from RSCM-affiliated churches across northern England.
Others set to receive rewards include Professor Jeremy Dibble of Durham University and Richard Lloyd, a former Durham Cathedral organist. Students will also be honoured.
