ORGANISERS of one of the major theatrical events of the year are looking for more male actors.

A play titled Who’s the Daddy - based on the Nativity story - is one of ten productions which will make up the Durham Mysteries, a revival of the medieval traditional of street plays based on Bible stories.

Organisers are looking for male singers to join a chorus, along with men to take the lead roles of Joseph and his long-lost friend Jude.

Producer and director Martin Wilson, from Tin Arts, said: "We are in search of talented male singers, dancers and actors to take part in what will be a colourful, high energy, West End-style production.

"We have already had a lot of interest from community groups from across Durham who are keen to get involved in the play and are now in search of more male talent to complete the cast."

A workshop will be held at Durham’s Gala Theatre on Saturday, February 27, from 12pm to 2pm.

Anyone interested should register in advance by emailing: mysteries@galadurham.co.uk Rehearsals will be held on evenings and weekends in April and May, with the Mysteries performed across Durham from May 27 to 29.
