TALENTED university students are currently enjoying a run of their version of a popular musical.

Young people from Durham University are performing Oklahoma! at the Gala Theatre in the city.

Durham University Light Opera Group (DULOG) is taking part in the Rogers and Hammerstein classic every night until Saturday.

The show features well-known songs such as Oh, What a Beautiful Morning, Surrey with a Fringe on Top and Oklahoma!

From tap-dancing to waltzing, and the renowned dream ballet, the show exhibits all the talents that Durham students have to offer.

With its cowboy hats and uplifting energy, the musical is designed to appeal to all ages.

DULOG’s president Millie Blair said: “As our largest production of the academic year, I am absolutely thrilled and grateful that we are able to once again perform in the incredible Gala Theatre and return with such a beloved musical.

“The whole team have been working tirelessly in recent weeks to bring the show to life.

“After an intense rehearsal period and braving the freezing January mornings, the cast are extremely excited to share the fruits of their labour with you all in what is sure to be a true spectacle.”

Tickets are priced from £8.50-£14.50.
