A POP-UP food event is being launched for the duration of next week's Lumiere festival.

Milburngate, in Durham, is hosting the event at its site on Framwelgate Waterside for the four-day event, which starts on Thursday, November 14.

Featuring vendors including Sedgefield's The Impeccable Pig and Truly Madly Pizza, a mobile wood-fired pizzeria from Sunderland, it has been dubbed "Milburngate Munch" and will offer a range of food including halloumi fries, scampi and chips and fish finger sandwiches.

Allan Cook, managing director of Arlington Real Estate, said: “Milburngate Munch will offer a great place for Lumiere visitors to grab a bite to eat and a hot drink on their tour round the festival.

"We’ve brought together a great selection of local restaurants and traders who will offer some fantastic warm comfort to festival goers at Milburngate when they visit the riverside to see some of the amazing installations hosted there.”

There will be a number of installations in the vicinity, including the whale "Mysticete", "End over End" - a giant glowing slinky toy and "Blue Skies", which is under Milburngate Bridge.

It will be open from 4pm to 11pm on Thursday and Friday and from 1pm to 11pm on Saturday and Sunday.
