A FREE family fun day is being staged as part of a church’s annual week of service to local communities.
It will be held at The Green in Chester-le-Street on Saturday, June 15, from 2pm to 5pm.
Organisers at the Emmanuel Church hae said there will be inflatables, face-painting, a barbecue and much more.
Next week church members will be out and about on the streets of the town to chat with people about Jesus.
Meanwhile, in Gilesgate, Durham City, members of the Durham congregation will be working with Gilesgate Residents’ Association to tidy up public spaces and parks; helping out at Durham Action on Single Housing (DASH), which provides accommodation for people at risk of homelessness; and gardening for those who struggle to look after their own gardens.
John Oliver, a pastor at Emmanuel Church, said: “As followers of Jesus, it’s our privilege to show his love through working to improve the communities in which we live. Our God Loves week is one way of doing this.”
Anyone who like volunteers to help with a garden, can email: info@emmanuel.org.uk.
Resources are limited, but all enquiries will be responded to.
