PRIMARY school children have impressed parents and teachers by performing live on stage.
The Gala Theatre in Durham hosted the recent musical extravaganza for youngsters from Brandon, Langley Moor and Tanfield Lea.
The group of schools provide a range of opportunities for children to work together at sports festivals and competitions, maths challenge days, a children’s conference to explore diversity, activity days and joint residential visits.
The performance was the idea of Tanfield Lea Community Primary School headteacher, Kay Hemmings, who was keen to give the children a new experience and continue to develop the work of the schools’ partnership.
Year three children from each of the schools joined together to share a range of songs while soloists, duos and groups of musicians also performed for the audience.
The choirs from Langley Moor and Tanfield Lea and Tanfield’s ukulele group, performed songs from the musicals Matilda and The Greatest Showman.
Ms Hemmings said: “Everyone agreed that this was a fantastic occasion and should be added to the growing list of events.”
