TWO men have been charged with attempted murder after a firearm was allegedly fired at a white van while it was waiting at traffic lights.
No-one was injured in the incident, which happened at 7.45am on Friday, February 22 in Windsor Way, Kingston Park, Newcastle.
The driver of the van was able to flee the scene before later contacting police.
Police carried out extensive enquiries and have now charged Mark Exley, 44, of no fixed abode, and Christopher David Jones, 34, of Whitbeck Road, Slatyford, with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
They have been remanded in custody to appear before magistrates in Bedlington today.
In total 11 people have been arrested as part of the investigation.
