TICKETS are on sale for three concerts being put on by a choir of Syrian refugees and County Durham singers.
Stories of Sanctuary is putting on the three North-East concerts ahead of going on a national tour, which it is able to do after successfully raising more than £5,000.
Inspired by Durham Cathedral’s history of providing sanctuary to people in need, the song-writing project was started as a way of welcoming Syrian refugees into the community, while sharing culture.
The choir, which has produced an album, is now putting on a series of three concerts in the North-East before going on tour to Yorkshire in June, the midlands in August and the south west in November.
The first concert is at Durham Cathedral on Thursday, March 21, with further performances at ARC Stockton on Friday, March 22 and at The Cumberland Arms, in Newcastle, on Sunday, March 24.
Tickets and further information are available from www.storiesofsanctuary.co.uk.
