THE death of a woman whose body was discovered in a house is no longer being treated as suspicious.
The 39-year-old woman was found at a property in Bainbridge Street, Carrville, near Durham, on Friday.
A spokesperson for Durham Police said the woman had a pre-existing serious illness and added that the death was no longer being treated as suspicious.
A police spokesperson said: “A 39-year-old woman whose body was found in a property in Carrville, Durham, on Friday (January 18) suffered from a pre-existing serious illness.
“A post-mortem has been carried out and police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death on behalf of the coroner.”
Initially, police said the death was being treated as suspicious and officers were questioning a 35-year-old man as part of their inquiries.
The property was cordoned off over the weekend. Police were called to the address at about 4.30pm on Friday.
