A COLLEGE is appealing to the region’s dog owners for furry four-legged models.

East Durham College is looking for dogs to be pampered by students taking the dog grooming course held at the Houghall campus in Durham.

The grooming sessions are free but owners are asked to make a donation towards the cost of products used during the appointment.

The college is appealing for a wide variety of dog models for clipping/scissoring including poodles, spaniels, lhasa apso, shih tzu and tibetan terriers.

Students are also asking for German shepherds, border collies, rough collies, golden retrieves, huskies, Pomeranians, chow chows, spitz breeds, samoyeds, corgis and old English sheepdogs for bathing and drying/de-shedding.

Anybody interested in registering their dog as a model should contact the dog grooming school on 0191-3754785 or by emailing Katherine.turner@eastdurham.ac.uk

Owners will be asked about their dog’s health, behaviour and coat condition before their visit.

An open evening for those interested in the dog grooming course on Tuesday, February 5.
