A TRANSPORT firm granted the wish of a ten-year-old autistic boy by making him a driver for the day
Tuffnells super-fan Joshua Bancroft, of Sacriston, Durham, and his family spent a morning with delivery drivers at the Felling depot. His mother had contacted Callum Chapman, traffic supervisor at Felling, to commend a Tuffnells driver who took the time to speak with him and let him sit in his van when he delivered a parcel to their home.

She explained that her son loved the Tuffnells trucks and dreamed of driving one himself.

Along with a taste of life as a Tuffnells driver, Joshua got his very own uniform and a lorry was named in his honour.
Lee Jackman, area distribution manager at Tuffnells’ Felling, said: “We’re so pleased we were able to arrange such a wonderful day for one of Tuffnells’ extra-special fans.
“In total, seven members of staff gave up their Saturday morning to make this a memorable experience for Joshua. His expression when he saw that the truck was named after him was priceless, and it was so lovely to be able to play a part in making his dreams come true.”
Mrs Bancroft said: “I am overwhelmed by what the team at Tuffnells has done for Joshua.

"For children with special needs, days like this are so important.

"I would just like to say thank you again to the team who gave up their time to make this a day that he’ll never forget.”
