WITH Strictly Come Dancing in full swing, a theatre is gearing up for two of its most FAB-U-LOUS shows to date.

If the thought of the popular BBC One show coming to an end next month leaves you distraught, fear not, you do not have to wait another year for dancefloor drama.

Four of Strictly’s most talented professionals are heading to The Gala Theatre in Durham in 2019 for two spectacular shows packed full of waltzes, foxtrots, rumbas and jives.

On Wednesday, March 27, at 7.30pm, two-times finalist and double Guinness World Record holder Giovanni Pernice will bring his sell-out 2017 tour Dance Is Life to the city.

Directed and choreographed by Strictly Come Dancing’s creative director Jason Gilkison, the smash hit show got audiences hot under the collar in 2017, and Giovanni is set to raise the temperature even higher this time around with a fiery mix of Latin and ballroom dances.

The Italian will be joined by Strictly’s newest pro, Luba Mushtuk, and audiences can expect sensational choreography, outstanding music, stunning costumes and plenty of wit and charm

Thursday, 13 June, at 7.30pm, meanwhile, will see Strictly favourites Ian Waite and Vincent Simone entertain Gala Theatre goers with their new production The Ballroom Boys.

Argentine Tango legend Vincent and King of the Ballroom Ian will be joined by two female professional dancers and a wonderful vocalist for a night packed full of dancing, singing and banter.

Get ready for a high intensity eventing of glitz and glamour.

Robin Byers, Gala Theatre manager, said: “Strictly fever is gripping the nation once again this year and these shows will ensure County Durham fans can keep dancing well into 2019.

“We expect demand for tickets to be high so quick step over to the box office to secure your seats.”
