A FIREWORKS display has raised more than £16,500 for hospice care in Durham.
St Cuthbert’s Hospice held its fourth annual fireworks display ahead of bonfire night last week.
More than 3,000 people attended the display to music, which took place at Framwellgate School Durham, and raised more than £16,500 for the Durham-based charity, which provides care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses.
Jade McArdle, senior community and events coordinator, said: “It was a fantastic night and so lovely to see so many people dancing along to the music as the fireworks went off overhead.
“We would like to thank everyone who supported the event including the many volunteers who kindly donated their time, and also our event sponsors Ramside Hall and Bill’s Restaurant Durham, who all helped us to make it a night to remember.”
