A SUSPECTED fuel thief is wanted by police as part of an investigation.

It is believed the man pulled onto the forecourt at Park Road Garage, Chester-Le-Street on October 6 at around 3.45pm.

He was driving a silver Ford Transit and filled his tank with £69.94 worth of fuel before leaving without making an attempt to pay.

A spokesman for Durham Constabulary said: "We’d like to speak to him in connection with a suspected fuel theft that took place."

He is described as being in his 20’s, around 5ft 11ins, wearing a grey woollen hat, blue shorts, blue and grey tracksuit top and grey trainers.

Anyone who recognises this man is asked to contact Durham Constabulary on 101 quoting incident number 274 of October 6.
