A MAN has been arrested following a spate of thefts from motor vehicles.
Police detained a 32-year-old in Brandon on Friday morning in relation to several incidents of theft between September 13 and 14 in the village.
A pedal bike which is believed to have been used to commit the offences has been found and seized.
Sergeant Mark Mallatratt said: “There are a number of measures that motorists can take in order to prevent themselves from becoming a victim of theft including not leaving valuables on show and ensuring vehicles are locked at night.
“If tools need to be left in vans then please consider using a van vault or other such anti-theft device.”
Anyone with information should call Durham Constabulary on 101.
