A CHARITY supporting people with multiple sclerosis (MS) is launching a dedicated phone line to provide support to people affected with the neurological condition.

The North Durham Group of the MS Society has a dedicated phone information line and email to help people find out about available support.

The information line is available to anyone whether they have MS or they are a friend, carer or relative of someone who is affected.

It is available five days a week for enquiries where people can be signpost to local services, financial help, free publications about MS and local activities run by the group or other charities that may be able to help.

Alistair Crisp, lead support volunteer said: “We’re pleased to be able to run this service. The group offers a variety of support including grants, free information, emotional support and social activities. This latest offering will go a long way in helping us to better support the needs of people with MS.”
