STAFF at a pharmacy have held a fundraising day in aid of a rescue centre which looks after lost and abandoned dogs.
The event at York Road Pharmacy, in Peterlee raised £1,133.18 for Coxhoe-based charity Stray Aid.
They decided to raise money for the rescue centre after they were won over by Dusty, who lost a leg after being run over and rehomed by the daughter of one staff member.
Staff also raised £167 to buy equipment for a sensory garden at Stray Aid.
Lee Henderson, from Stray Aid, said: “Stray Aid would like to sincerely thank all that were involved with the event it is very much appreciated by all at the centre, it really does make a difference.”
Stray Aid is holding it’s annual sponsored dog walk this Sunday, at 11am from Durham City Rowing Club, registration is from 10.30am.
