A TALENTED student is celebrating an offer to study media at university after a difficult few years.
William Graydon had previously been in care before coming to Peterlee’s East Durham College. He had a troubled upbringing and felt like he was not receiving the support he needed previously, a thing he felt changed when he started his course at the college.
William said: “At one point it felt like everyone had just given up on me. I felt like there were certain stigmas attached to me because of my history – but I never felt like that at EDC.
“They have given me lots of support during my time here and really given me a chance to express my creativity.”
William found a passion for media production during his time at the college, working closely with the college’s head of media, Suzanne Martin.
Speaking after being offered a place at Sunderland University, he said: “Suzanne helped guide me to find what I’m best at.”
Suzanne added: “I am really happy for Will and his achievement at getting a place to study a BA honours in Media at Sunderland University.”
