POLICE believe a man may have been deliberately hit by a car.
The pedestrian was knocked over by the silver Rover 45 - registration AD51 UVB - at the top of Barn Hill, Stanley, before two men got out and ran in the direction of Tanfield Lea.
The incident happened on Thursday, August 25, and Stanley Police have issued an appeal for witnesses.
A Stanley Police spokesman said: “The victim of the collision sustained leg injuries and at present police are treating this as a deliberate act.
