POLICE have issued a warning after two burglaries in rural areas over the weekend.
Two quad bikes were stolen from a farm in Lanchester overnight on September 11 and a quantity of red diesel was stolen from a farm in the Knitsley area between September 10 and 11.
Neighbourhood Inspector Keith Wardle, of Consett Police, said: "I would like to ask our rural residents to make sure their outbuildings, in particular, are secured and to report any suspicious activity, especially suspicious vehicles to us."
Anyone with information regarding the thefts is asked to call Durham Police on 101.
