TEN new jobs will be created when a new supermarket opens next week.
A new Co-op food store will open its doors in Front Street, in Burnopfield, near Stanley on Thursday.
The company has spent more than £500,000 in converting the 3,000 sq ft convenience store, which will be officially opened by children from Burnopfield Primary School.
New store manager, Kate Forster, said: “We are thrilled to open the doors of our new store in Burnopfield and as a community retailer it is important to us that our local primary school will be playing a central role in the opening of our new store.”
The new store will be open from 7am until 11pm, seven days a week.
