A SCHOOL has been praised for the way it involves children in decision making.
Blue Coat CE Junior School, in Newton Hall, Durham City, was awarded Investing in Children status for the fifth year.
The award scheme recognises and celebrates examples of imaginative and inclusive practice with children and young people.
There are currently more than 300 members across County Durham and a further 150 across the rest of the UK.
Membership is reviewed every two years, with the children and young people playing a key role in deciding whether it should be re-awarded.
