CHRISTMAS has come early for schoolboy Caleb Hinnigan.
The nine-year-old pupil of Nettlesworth Primary School, Chester-le-Street, today (Tuesday, November 10) received a mountain bike from Durham Chief Constable Mike Barton – his prize for winning the force’s annual Christmas card competition.
Every year youngsters qare invited to come up with designs for the season’s greetiongs from the chief constable.
A record 600 entries were submitted and the judges chose Caleb’s design He drew a police car with the speech bubble ‘freeze’ coming from it and a snowman saying “I already am froze” .
The bike donated by the Durham Agency Against Crime. Youth inclusion, PCSO Claire Kerr, said: “We were delighted to receive such a large number of entries, the most we have ever had. There were some outstanding efforts but Caleb’s was a clear winner, as it covered both the main themes and also made us smile.”
