A VILLAGE housing estate will host a family fun day later this week (Friday, April 5).

The Hamsteels Estate Activity Day will be held on the large estate, in Esh Winning, on Friday, April 5, from 11am.

There will be games, competitions and the chance to meet police dogs Jet and Ben.

The event takes place on the former Hamsteels Primary School site, with refreshments and indoor activities on offer at Hamsteels Community Centre, on Western Avenue.

The day is being organised by the Safe Durham Partnership.

Residents have complained recently of young people causing problems in the area. Police say they are working to tackle the anti-social behaviour.
