A SERIES of guided walks is to get underway next month.
The four-month series of free walks is part of a series of events to promote Consetts town centre as a place to shop and visit.
Walks, organised by Derwent Valley Partnership and Groundwork North East, begin in some of the villages surrounding Consett and take participants into the town centre.
The first gets underway on Thursday, April 4 starting at the shops on Briardale, in Delves Lane at 10am. Walkers will then complete four miles through Crookhall to Consett and back again.
Future walks include events starting in Leadgate, Shotley Bridge, Castleside, Ebchester, Lanchester and Dipton.
