TWO men have admitted burgling the home of an elderly woman last weekend.
Christian Allaker, 54, and 40-year-old Edward Albert Thomas Short made a brief appearance in a preliminary hearing at Durham Crown Court following their arrest after the break-in at a property in Stanley, on Sunday (January 27).
Both pleaded ‘guilty’ to the joint charge of burglary and will be sentenced following preparation of background reports on them by the Probation Service.
Judge Christopher Prince adjourned the hearing and remanded Allaker, of Eastfields, and Short, of Fern Avenue, both Stanley, in custody to be sentenced at the court on Friday February 22.
