A CITY centre pub today (Wednesday, December 19) launched a winter ales festival featuring a range of local and national ales.
The Bishops’ Mill in Walkergate, Durham City, will have 25 beers available – with 10 lines on at a time.
Among the North-East breweries represented are Mordue, Big Lamp and Sonnet 43, while some of the ales from further afield come from the Greene King, Stone Henge, Caledonian and Moorhouses breweries.
Bishops’ Mill deputy manager Rob Woodford said: “Three pints of beer cost £5. We are hoping to sell 1,500 pints during the five to six days of the festival.”
Beers will be available from 9am to 2am from today until Christmas Eve.
