BEER enthusiasts have raised more than £900 for charity at a real ale festival.
The popular annual event at Chester-le-Street Cricket Club raised £909 for the British Lung Foundation (BLF) and money from collecting tins added another £14.
The BLF was nominated as the festival’s charity by Sharon Haggerty, Joint Clinical Lead for NHS North East’s Respiratory Programme, who is a regular at the club and a long-time BLF supporter.
Bev Wears, Support and Development Manager for the BLF North Region, said: “We are delighted that Chester-le-Street Cricket Club has devoted their time and energy to help support the British Lung Foundation.
“Every contribution makes a difference and funds raised will go towards ensuring that we can continue to offer vital support for people with lung disease, as well as their partners, families and friends.”
