A PRIMARY school may be given £175,000 to cope with an extra 30 pupils in its September in-take.
The suggestion to give Heathfield Primary School in Darlington the money has been recommended for approval at a Darlington Borough Council next week.
The money would come from Darlington Borough Council’s Basic Needs Capital.
It will be used to house the extra pupils who will be admitted over the the Planned Admission Numbers (PAN).
Corporation Road Primary School will also take on 10 additional pupils over its PAN. And St Teresa’s Roman Catholic Primary School will take on an extra five pupils.
Neither of the other schools require any building work to accomodate the extra pupils.
A decision will be made by council members at a cabinet meeting on June 12 at 5pm in Darlington Town Hall.
