CHRISTMAS comes to Darlington shopping centre next weekend when Santa and his reindeer fly in for a special parade.

The popular reindeer parade, organised by the Cornmill Shopping Centre, will take place on Sunday, November 27, at 11am, in Tubwell Row where Santa will begin his journey through the town centre on a colourful sleigh pulled by a herd of real reindeer.

He will make his way to the Cornmill, where children will get the chance to meet him.

The parade will be led by the Cockerton Silver Band, which will entertain the crowds with festive tunes.

Susan Young, manager of the Cornmill, said: "The everpopular reindeer parade promises to get the festive season off to a magical start for all of the family.

"While the kids will enjoy passing on their Christmas letters to Santa and having the chance to meet some real, live reindeers, parents will be entertained by music from Cockerton Silver Band."
