THREE nine-year old girls organised a family fun day to raise money for a hospice.

Tegan Hopper, Anya Harnett and Leilani Stewart held the fun day in their cul-de-sac in Spennymoor, County Durham.

raising £160.38 for St Teresa's Hospice, in Darlington.

The girls were inspired to raise money for the hospice by Tegan's aunt Tracy French, who wanted to give something back in return for the care she received there.

The girls said: "We wanted to raise money for Auntie Tracy because the hospice took such good care of her, and we love her so much."

The cheque was accepted on behalf of St Teresa's Hospice by Donna Owen, a nurse in the hospice's in-patient unit.
