A SECOND meeting to discuss Gypsies moving onto a village field despite being denied permission has been delayed for a week.
Villagers from Brafferton were due to hold anothermeeting on Monday to discuss the site, which has been occupied by three touring caravans.
However, the meeting has been postponed for seven days.
Residents held an emergency meeting the previous Monday after they reported travellers had moved onto the land, less than three weeks after their plans were refused.
Billy Cairney had applied to site caravans, as well as a stable block, tack room and amenity facilities, on the field in Aycliffe Lane, Brafferton, to the north-east of Darlington.
Darlington Borough Council refused the application, saying it did not consider that the need to provide private Gypsy sites outweighed the negative visual impact of the development.
The villagemeetingwill take place on Monday, at 6.30pm, in Brafferton Village Hall.
