CYCLISTS have caused no accidents in Darlington's Pedestrian Heart despite an increase in the amount of people using bikes.
The figures are contained in a report which has been circulated to members of Darlington Borough Council's Economy and Environment Scrutiny Committee.
The committee monitors the levels of usage and behaviour of cyclists after it was agreed to allow cycling in the town centre in February 2009.
The figures show that there were three accidents involving pedestrians and cars and one accident with a cyclist and a car in the last year.
There was also a report of two young cyclists behaving dangerously.
The figures were compiled by the police between January and October last year.
The report also shows that the number of cyclist has risen consistently over the last few years.
They reached a peak of 1,331 in July 2008.
The report will be discussed by councillors at the meeting on Thursday at 9.30am in the town hall
