A FACTORY worker managed to raise almost £200 by taking part in a singing marathon.
Ian Rutland, who has worked at Cummins Engines in Darlington for 41 years, sang 56 different songs - although the total number sung was higher as some were requested twice.
Cummins has been raising money for the special care baby unit in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, this year, and so far workers have raised about £7,000.
Activities in the past 12 months have included a Christmas card sale, a Boxing Day dip in the sea, raffles, a football tournament, sweepstakes and a balloon race.
Mr Rutland has been asked to busk at the hospital in Northallerton to boost the money raised further.
