Northern Echo SPORT understands that defender Shelton Martis is on the verge of leaving Darlington after rejecting the offer of a two-year contract.
The Dutchman is expected to join Hibernian whose manager, Tony Mowbray, was in the crowd for Quakers' win at Accrington Stanley on Tuesday evening.
After Martis' one-year contract expired at the end of last season, he had been on a week-to-week deal that enabled Darlington to field him in the first-team, but also permitted the defender to leave the club with immediate effect.
