A MOTORCYCLING group has compiled its survey results from a day of action to pass on to Darlington Borough Council.

Darlington and District Motorcycle Action Group (Mag) handed out questionnaires during a rally in the town centre in April.

As well as data on personal bike use, the survey asked people what they thought of roads, facilities for motorcyclists and what stopped them from using their motorbike.

Chris Wooff, Darlington Mag representative, said: "We will give it to the council because as much information as possible can only be a good thing.

"We want to give them our own feedback because obviously they have their own data too."

About half of the respondents said they were stopped from using their bikes because of a lack of secure parking in Darlington.

Non-motorcyclists thought that traffic congestion in Darlington was a problem - with half saying it was slow and 38 per cent finding it intolerable.

A council spokesman said: "We look forward to receiving the survey results and discussing them with Mag representatives."
