Darlington Mayor's Ball made £1,662 for local charities, despite the event not attracting a sponsor.
Increased ticket sales on the 2008 event saw 306 people turn out for the annual fundraiser, held on October 16 2009.
Ticket sales totalled £15,300, leaving a surplus of £131 with all the expenditure was taken into account.
Each ticket, costing £50, included a donation of £2 to the Mayor's Charity.
When added to other money raised on the night, the charity took a total of £1,662, which will be distribute by the Mayor, Councillor Jim Ruck, to good causes in the borough.
The accounts will be discussed by Darlington Borough Council's resources scrutiny committee, at a meeting in the town hall at 9.30am on Thursday, March 4. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
