HAIRDRESSING students will learn about the cut and thrust of life in a salon when two experts deliver a class about the profession.

Brothers Paul and David Patterson, who run PaulDavid Hairdressing, will visit Darlington College to give students tips of the trade.

The college has excellent relations with local employers. The sessions taking place in April and May are expected to provide experience for those looking to forge a career in the industry.

The PaulDavid salon has been in Duke Street for the past three years. The brothers will run the first master-classes but hope members of the nine-strong workforce will take future sessions.

Paul Patterson said: "We were approached by the college to ask if we would do this and we jumped at the chance.

"We'll be showing the students a few more advanced techniques that will hopefully give them the confidence and motivation to try different things in their work.

"It is also good for us to get out into the community and meet some of the talented students who could be looking for jobs when their courses end."
