A POWER company is investigating what caused a town centre electricity cut which affected dozens of Darlington businesses.
Electricity went off at 68 properties in Crown Street, Northgate and Oxford Street at 11.49am this morning but was restored shortly afterwards.
Power was restored to 22 premises by 12.05pm today and the other properties were reconnected by 12.28pm after an alternative source was found.
A spokesman for electricity company NELD said: “We’re not sure what caused the fault and are investigating.”
