A ROCK band has reformed ten years after what they thought would be their final gig.
Darlington band Discovery will play at the towns Forum Music Centre tonight with a medley of rock classics.
Discovery were made up of instructor Stuie Ellerton on drums, construction site manager John Foottit on lead guitar, professional singer Ian Taylor on vocals, teacher Steve McGarvie on keyboard and firefighter Chris Walker on bass. The same five will have reunited for tonights performance ten years after their farewell gig.
They performed throughout the 1990s playing their own original music as well as covers from bands including Van Halen and Whitesnake.
Mr Walker said: "We split up originally after Ian left for a recording deal and we couldnt replace him.
"Getting back together has been like putting on an old pair of slippers and I hope we can keep going this time.
"Reunions like Led Zeppelin have brought older musicians back into focus. Young people might not have heard the old classics and we also hope to write new material that might take us in another direction."
The gig at the Forum, on Borough Road, starts at 8pm with a support band. Discovery will take to the stage at 9.15pm. Entrance is £5.
