COLLEGE students raised funds for a children's charity by putting their new-found skills to use.
Pathways and sign language students at Darlington College had been practising for weeks for their performance in Central Point reception.
The festive choir of 48 signed a host of Christmas songs and carols after learning how to perform the words in British Sign Language.
More than £100 was raised for students' chosen charity the NSPCC.
Darlington College tutor Ali Wright said: "The students started with a simple hello, then began learning to sign carols. It has been great fun and they have really enjoyed it.
"Their efforts also count towards their coursework as part of their performance skills.
"They chose to help the NSPCC because they wanted to do something for children."
