PLANS are being considered to relocate a post office branch in Darlington.
It means the branch in Geneva Road, Darlington could move to a nearby shop.
The Post Office said it was considering the move as part of its programme to modernise the network but added that no decisions had been made.
It is in talks with an interested retailer, it has confirmed and said any proposal would be subject to consultation.
A Post Office spokesperson, said: “As part of modernising our network of Post Offices there are possible plans to relocate the branch. We are in talks with an interested retailer.
"Any relocation would be subject to public consultation. There is no consultation at the moment.”
The Post Office has been making changes to the way it operates since 2012, relocating thousands of branches across the country, often in convenience stores or other shops.
