AS well as a phone line allowing people without internet access to get support, a community helping the vulnerable has launched a national campaign to get volunteers recognised for their hard work during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Coronavirus Support for Vulnerable Darlington hopes its #VolunteersVsVirus hashtag will catch on across the nation, highlighting the hard work being done at a grassroots level.
George Jabbour, one of the network's core team, said: "Without the dedication and commitment of our volunteers, we would not be able to serve the residents of Darlington.
"To recognise their selfless work, we will start using the hashtag #VolunteersVsVirus to show our appreciation for their invaluable contribution. We would like to invite everyone to join us in this online campaign."
People in Darlington can now also call the group for help on 01325 978897, a line that is manned from 9am to 7pm, seven days a week.
