THE Cornmill and Age UK North Yorkshire and Darlington have teamed up this winter to provide a series of 'One Hot Meal' events at Bradbury House in Darlington.

The Cornmill's aim is to give back to the community by giving over 120 people a hot meal this Christmas.

The opportunity became available after they raised £700 earlier this year through a range of activities and contributions provided to the centre.

The lunches have been held and will be held throughout December to support Darlington's more vulnerable and isolated residents as well as promoting friendship among the older community, while providing a hearty and hot meal.

The Cornmill management as well as volunteers from Age UK North Yorkshire and Darlington, Darlington College and Darlington Police have assisted in previous events to meet the needs of the residents and have been on hand to provide information regarding the support services available for anyone who may be feeling the effects of loneliness during the Christmas period.

Age UK North Yorkshire and Darlington offer a range of activities at Bradbury House from Banjo classes to guitar lessons. For more information visit the Age UK North Yorkshire and Darlington website.
